Swimming

After a week of voluntary work at the largest swimming club in the southern hemisphere I've got a job with them, YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEY! I help teach 2000 school kids a week learn how to swim during school hours and after school. The after school teachers are all around my age and most of them are at university so making lots of new friends.
I ride there everyday on a old bike that the bolts on the front wheel can't be tightened and are a bit loose so its interesting. Its only 20 minutes on the bike so nice and quick.

Australia vs New Zealand in one day international

In the afternoon and evening of Friday 6th February Australia played New Zealand in the one day international at the MCG. Australia lost by 6 wickets in the stadium that holds 90,000 people. There were 30,000 people in there minus the 3 streakers who got onto the pitch for some comedy banter!!!

Walking around Albert park

On Friday 6th February I walked around Albert park where the national aquatic swimming centre is. This great swimming pool was the stage for the 2006 commonwealth games, with an outdoor pool and a large grandstand.
This is the pit stops for the Melbourne grand prix, the course goes around Albert park surrounding the lake and many aussie footy and cricket pitches with a lake in the middle

Running

A famous run around the royal botanic gardens of Melbourne. Must do it one day but here i walked around the 3.5km loop. There was loads of people running around and some school kids had to do it for a P.E lesson.

Australia Day 2009

Australia day occurs on 26th January and is the national day for Australia. Big party, lots of meat on the BBQ, plenty of beer and a sunny day

Australian open day 2

After enjoying it so much I decided to go back for some more. Therefore on Thursday 22nd January I went back to Melbourne Park and saw Elana Baltacha loose to Amelie Mauresmo in a great 3 setter. It was hot hot hot again so chose to go indoors to watch some on the TV and enjoy air con. 5 minutes later a little old lady came up to me and asked if I was on my own? After chatting about the tennis she said she was on here own and had a ticket for the main stadium court and would I like it because she was leaving and would i like her ticket? So there I was sat on the front row watching Serena Williams, AMAZING!!!
Next was Frenchman Gael Monfils winning in 3 sets, and then another Frenchman Jo-Wilfried Tsonga wins both their matches. Another great day with a French feel due to watching 3 French matches. It is amazing how much power they produce and how athletic they all are, gives you inspiration and motivation!!
