The Australian Open 2009



Ok guys this is my first post so hang on it could be a bumpy ride. On Tuesday 20th Jan went to the Australian Open tennis which was amazing. People call Melbourne Park the sporting capital of the world, with the tennis centre, Melbourne cricket ground, Australian Institute of Sport (AIS), Melbourne grand prix circuit and many football, rugby ect pitches and parks it truly is an amazing place.
The temperatures were stinking hot with 42 C in the stand but the court temperature rose to 60 C so it was no wonder that when I watched Brit Elana Baltacha win in 45 mins players wanted to finish the match early. Didn't get burnt today but did manage to drink 5 liters at the tennis.

    Seems like you are having a fab time in Oz Matt! Keep posting some pics cos we are all following your blog....!!! Nige is very jealous and is seriously wanting to ditch his job and have a gap year too! Have fun in the sun!
